Before the explosion of high definition television I thought a TV was just a box for watching my favourite programs on and that high definition television was the latest marketing ploy to get consumers to by the latest models. I wasn’t convinced that high definition was the revolution that the industry was claiming, that was until I finally saw a finally saw a high definition set with my own eyes. I was amazed by the quality of the pictures and the whole viewing experience.
The big thing with a full HD TV is that it brings the viewer closer to the scenes you are watching without actually being there. The difference with a Full HD TV and a normal HD television is basically between the number of lines of pixels that makes up the picture, with a Full HD television having a greater amount. This means the picture has a higher definition and therefore a greater clarity of picture quality, this immerses the viewer in the viewing experience. Watching a football game you feel like you are there in person, the green turf, the player’s kits, the people in the crowd and the stadium all seem so vivid. You don’t miss a moment of the action on the pitch, because of the improved picture quality the players and ball don’t blur against the background when camera pans. These attributes apply when watching movies, your enjoyment is no longer compromised when watching a movie at home as compared to watching at the cinema.
In addition to sports and movies the same benefits that can be applied to home gaming. Both the Playstation 3 and Xbox are compatible with a 1080p TV set. Any gamer will tell you that it takes a HD set to really get the full effect that these next generation consoles are capable of. In all situations the viewing experience is enhanced all round.
