Lcd Tv Contrast Ratio Explained

Can you explain to me some technical terms of LCD TV?

In particular, what is the difference between HD-ready and full-HD, which one is better? What is contrast ratio? Is high contrast ratio better? What is HDMI input? Can you give me any link that explains all this? Thanks!

HD ready means that it is capable of showing High def, but you have to buy a tuner separately in order to view it, while full HD has the tuner included.

Your contrast ratio has to do with how well the images show in relation to the background lighting in the image — the higher the ratio, the crisper the image looks, so higher is better.

HDMI input is a digital input structure that allows for direct connection of a HD signal — usually from HD tuners to an HD ready tv (see first paragraph,) but some full HD tv’s will have it too, so it allows for interconnect to other HD devices as well, such as DVD players, etc.
