Which TV should i get?

I’m going to buy a 32 inch tv for my room so i can play xbox.

It’s out of two TV’s i spotted on the john lewis which are quite good deals. Its out of the Sony Bravia KDL32V5500 LCD HD 1080p Digital Television, 32 inch or the Samsung LE32B450C4W LCD HD. The thing is the samsung isnt 1080p but the bravia is. Somebody was telling me 1080p dosent make a difference until you get to summat like 37″+ And i was wondering wether the samsung is still good quality, how does it compare to the bravia considering it’s £150 less? I want the quality to be good and would prefer the samsung as cheaper, is there that much of a difference???

Here are the site links:-

For most viewing, and for most people, 1080p advantages don’t kick in visually until you break 40″. The pixel size on smaller TVs just aren’t big enough to actually display the extra details that 1080p provides. From a technical standpoint it is better, its just from a realistic standpoint, you’re not likely to get much return on the extra you pay for it (poor bang for the buck).

That being said, the one breed of people I see demand 1080p or 120Hz on smaller sets are gamers. Every gamer is different, as every person’s visual sensitivities are different. But gamers are the one group that I see people demand more high end features in smaller sets. To figure out if it matters for you, you need to go into a store and look for yourself. Look at a 1080p 32″ set vs a 720p 32″ set (with some games, and standing back a normal viewing distance). If you see a big difference, then perhaps you need to make the investment. But if you don’t, then the advanced features are not too likely to be worth it.

For most people I would say save the money and go with the cheaper TV, considering both are top tier brands. But since you’re buying it for gaming, I think you really need to get into a store and take a look it. I think that should be your defining factor.
